Medusa vs Boomstick
A fair head-to-head between the locally stocked Mythos Medusa at ₱11,999 and Selkirk's premium LABS Project Boomstik, comparing face, core, certification, and real PH availability.
The "Boomstick" is really Selkirk's LABS Project Boomstik, a genuine flagship power paddle with a foam BoomCore, an EVA Power Ring, and a removable MOI tuning system. It is excellent, but it is also an import that lands around ₱20,990 to ₱23,999, roughly double the Mythos Medusa. The Medusa gives you the same Toray T700 triple-carbon face and a 16mm full-foam core in an elongated power shape for ₱11,999, and it is now officially USA Pickleball Approved at PBCoR .43, so it is tournament-legal here. Watch out for cheap AliExpress and Temu "Boomstick" knockoffs at around $40, which are unrelated to the real Selkirk product.

The Boomstik leans harder into raw power and tunability: its EVA Power Ring and removable MOI weights let advanced players dial in swing weight and twist weight, its InfiniGrit face is claimed to hold spin texture about three times longer than standard raw carbon, and reviewers consistently call it a top-tier competitive paddle that most recreational players do not actually need. The Medusa covers the same fundamentals (T700 carbon, 16mm full-foam, elongated shape) at a fixed weight and handle, then wins decisively on the things that matter in the Philippines: it costs roughly half as much, it ships from local stock with COD, it carries a PH warranty, and its PBCoR .43 approval is published and confirmed rather than left unstated.
