Medusa vs JOOLA Perseus
The Ben Johns flagship against the Medusa, same premium class, very different price and availability.
The JOOLA Perseus is the marquee name, Ben Johns' own paddle. But strip the branding and the two are the same premium formula: elongated shape, carbon face, 16mm foam core, PBCoR .43 approved. The Medusa delivers that class for less, and, the part that matters in Manila, it's actually in stock here, with COD and a local warranty.

Where they differ
The Medusa runs a slightly lighter 7.9–8.0 oz and a Toray T700 face, the same aerospace-grade carbon the top brands use, over a full-foam EchoFoam core for a wide, stable sweet spot. The Perseus IV's TechFlex Power core is excellent and battle-proven at the pro level; you're also paying for the Ben Johns name and JOOLA's brand weight.
Who each is for
- Buy the Perseus if the marquee brand name matters to you and you don't mind importing and paying more for it.
- Buy the Medusa if you want the same premium performance class, T700 carbon, foam core, tournament-legal, for less, delivered locally with COD, a PH warranty, and a full accessory kit in the box.
